Having been in a relationship with a network news producer . . . yes, they are totally out of it when it comes to How the Other Half Lives.

Just a couple of weeks ago, the online BBC news service had an interview with an American reporter to get his take on the whole war-Iraq-Bush thing. Because, as a Yank, he'd provide so much "insight." One of the questions asked was how much the economy would affect the election. His response flabbergasted me - basically, he said that voters would make their decision based on Bush's conduct regarding the war on terror and tbe war in Iraq. Not that Iraq would weight more in people's minds, but literally that the economy would NOT be a factor in people's minds AT ALL.

Christ, they haven't a clue.
