First: congratulations on completing the Marine Corps this year.

Second: this is where I fell off the wagon. I said to myself in November 2002, "You know, I wanna do this again." I even ran a 10K in December on frozen streets. But after that? I can't tell you what happened, 'cause I don't know myself.

Your story and watching the finish this year has finally applied the kick to the pants -- I want to start up again. The good news: USMC will allow 30,000 people into the race next year (to celebrate the 30th anniversary, of course), making the lottery a bit easier.

So, let's rock.... Starting tomorrow.

Lisa

Yeah!

There's actually no lottery for the 30th marathon. For the 1st time in 5 years, they're doing 1st-come, 1st-serve and registration starts at midnight, April 6, 2005. And that's midnight, east-coast time, heh, heh, heh ...
